Welcome Alex Del Prete, PsyD, Postdoctoral Fellow!
Welcome Alex Del Prete, PsyD, Postdoctoral Fellow to Mind Therapy Clinic.
Dr. Del Prete earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute and her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. She completed her predoctoral internship in psychology with Marin County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, Support and Treatment After Release (STAR) program, supporting individuals with severe mental illness who were involved with the criminal justice system. All of her prior training has been dedicated to serving diverse clients and families across the lifespan involved in complex systems, such as juvenile justice, adult criminal justice, and the child welfare system. Alex is a Level 1 Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) therapist and her approach to psychotherapy is culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and predicated upon the belief that we all have the innate capacity to heal and flourish. This integrative orientation is grounded in attachment, psychodynamic, affective neuroscience, and developmental theories, and she utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills to support clients in attaining their goals.
When she’s not working, Alex enjoys spending time with her family and children, hiking on many of Marin’s beautiful trails with her partner and three dogs, spending time with friends, and practicing yoga.
