Julie Vaccaro, AMFT is an intern at the Mind Therapy Clinic. She received her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. Prior to working at MTC, Julie worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator for 6 years at UCSF leading research studies in the fields of mindfulness, insomnia, and stress. Julie's recent clinical experiences include facilitating mindful parenting groups and practicing as a counselor at Mission High School (in San Francisco), in both experiences working with Spanish-speaking populations. In addition, she has worked with patients who struggle with trauma, relational issues, depression, and anxiety.

In her practice, Julie uses an integrative approach to wellness, understanding clients’ presenting concern(s) through the lens of their early life experiences and teaching practical coping skills with Mindfulness, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). When working with clients, she is committed to a person-centered approach, practicing empathy and a non-judgmental stance, creating a caring and meaningful relationship with the client to facilitate healing further. In her free time, Julie enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking, and reading.
